Saint Mary Faustina Kowalska

1905–1938

Saint Mary Faustina Kowalska, 1905–1938
October 5

Saint Mary Faustina was born in Poland. She was the third of ten children. When she was twenty, she entered the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. While praying one night, she had a vision of Jesus as the “King of Divine Mercy.” He told her that she was to tell the whole world that God was merciful and kind. She had a picture of Jesus painted showing red and white rays of light coming from his heart. She told us all to pray, “Jesus, I trust in you.” She is sometimes called the “Apostle of Divine Mercy.”

Discuss: How do you show your trust in Jesus?
